Who pays for the initial move?

Telecommunications and Networking pays for the initial move of existing telephone service or existing ISUnet data service to newly assigned pre-wired space.

If a department moves their existing telephone service or existing ISUnet data service (including computer labs) to space newly assigned to the department by the University (such as a move to a new building), the initial one time relocation cost to move this existing service to the new space will be paid for by Telecommunications and Networking. This does not include requests for new telephone service or new ISUnet data service or requests for the installation of new telephone wiring or new ISUnet data wiring. Any subsequent relocation costs within the newly assigned space are the responsibility of the department.

Who pays for new service?

The department pays for new telephone service or new ISUnet data service.

New telephone service or new ISUnet data service (including computer labs) must be requested through Telecommunications and Networking and these services are chargeable. Who pays for new wiring?

The department pays for new telephone wiring and new ISUnet data wiring.

All new telephone wiring and all new ISUnet data wiring (including wiring for computer labs) must be coordinated with Telecommunications and Networking to insure compliance with University wiring standards and the availability of network resources. Installation of new telephone wiring or new ISUnet data wiring is a chargeable service. These one time costs are the responsibility of the department making the request. One time costs for new wiring may be included as part of Facilities Management remodeling projects if funds are available. If not included in the project, these one time costs are the responsibility of the department.
